Our client had decided to move away from their SAP software and were looking to migrate their existing and historical data into a new database which allowed access to old reports and files out of the archive. They had a large amount of data to migrate and did not have the resources internally to extract the necessary data. They asked Encordia to help them migrate this data, translate it from SAP, and locate the specific data sets they needed.
Our Approach
We collaborated with HR and financial teams to understand what they needed from their dataset and how they would like to access and retrieve the information.
With the assistance of an SAP specialist, we wrote and designed a data model to migrate the data onto the new database.
We pulled over 271 million records onto the new database, writing the script several times to ensure it worked in diverse environments, and cleaned up the data.
We created reports to enable the teams to run the criteria needed to retrieve necessary data as and when they needed it.
