The Challenge
Compliance with FIA’s new cost-cap regulations.
With new FIA regulations imposing strict cost caps mandating rigorous tracking of personnel hours and budget allocation, our Formula 1 client faces a tricky challenge. Breaking these caps could result in penalties ranging from fines to disqualification. Recognising the importance of compliance, they began developing an in-house solution but soon realised they needed external expertise to fully design, develop, and deploy a robust application.

We started with a detailed review of the app concept, working closely with the client to outline essential features that would fully meet FIA’s requirements. Together, we established a clear strategy for a scalable, user-friendly solution accessible across PC, mobile, and tablet devices.
In line with our client’s requirements, we:
- Developed a flexible application framework with a meticulously designed integration architecture, supporting smooth, cross-platform functionality with existing HR and finance systems.
- Created a comprehensive data repository to manage master data, project details, and timesheets, enabling quick approvals, clear attribution of personnel hours, and required manager sign-off for enhanced oversight.
- Conducted user research and testing to ensure we designed an intuitive interface that simplified personnel hour tracking, allowing for easy time logging and minimising data entry errors.
Built for scalability, the app can support a growing user base and increased data demands, positioning the client to confidently adhere to FIA’s new regulatory standards.
